Mamas, lets up our pantry and fridge game

When we are in a rush it is SO hard to reach for healthy meals as Moms because those tend to include a bit more prep time and just plain thought. We don’t got time for it but unfortunately, usually anything that is quick is loaded with sugar, preservatives and just icky stuff. And yes, every once in a while when our child is pulling us out the door, we just gotta grab the bar, accept it and move on. But for the other 80% of the time, I want you to up your pantry and fridge game with some of the items below so that we can throw something together quick and healthy. Your top 2 items will be your greens and wraps.

I want you to think of your greens and wraps as your canvases.

Choose a bed of greens or your wrap (or both) and then load it with the toppings of your choice. This is where I take advantage of my leftovers but even if you don’t have any you can try some of the toppings I included below. The goal is to have this meal be QUICK but SATISFYING so think about your preferences (salty? cheesy? fatty?) and don’t forget to take advantage of seasonings and/or dips (my 2 favorite included below). Just to clarify, this is by no means a gourmet meal. It ain’t gonna be pretty and should take no more than 10 minutes to make but it will be delicious!

Staple Items for the Fridge:

  1. Greens (Mix it up with some mixed greens, arugula, spinach)

  2. Sauerkraut (so easy to throw on a salad for a twist - My favorite is Bubbies)

  3. Broccoli (throw on your salads raw for crunch)

  4. Leftovers (Try to 3x your meals so you have something in the fridge for next day or week)

Staple Items for the Pantry:

  1. Wraps (My favorite are Siete)

  2. Balsamic Vinegar

  3. Olive Oil

  4. Chili Flakes to spice up your salads (no plain jane salads allowed)

  5. Chipotle Mayo (My go to is Primal Kitchen)

  6. Nuts - My two favorites are Almond Slices & Pinenuts

  7. Avocado

  8. Parmesan (a cheese that has a long shelf life is your best friend!)

  9. Goji Berries (Navitas is my go to)

Tell me some of your staple items!
